Registration now open for the Oklahoma Film Institute

The Oklahoma Film Institute at Oklahoma City Community College is an exciting, intensive three-week program comprised of one-week sessions of workshops each focusing on various techniques, methods and tricks of the three basic filmmaking processes: Pre-production, Production and Post-production.

Here’s a chance for anyone, from interested movie-goer to serious film student, to learn directly from some of the best in Hollywood. The intensive three-week summer program is approachable enough for those with little or no filmmaking background, yet informative enough to attract those already studying or working in the industry.

Each OFI participant will be able to try their hand at a variety of real film jobs including direction, camera, sound, production, lighting, grip operations and of course, editing on one of the professional AVID non-linear editing systems in the largest AVID editing facility in the mid-continent.

Among those scheduled to instruct at the institute this summer are Kini Kay (post-production sound for “Boogie Nights,” “Don Juan DeMarco”) Gray Frederickson (produced Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now," "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part 2,") and Craig Stearns (production designer for several Stephen King projects.)

Registration for the 2005 Oklahoma Film Institute has already begun.

Workshop Dates:
Week One: Pre-production: July 11-15
Week Two: Production: July 18 - 22
Week Three: Post-production: July 25 - 29
